https://ojs.forumkomunikasidosen.org/index.php/jurnal-bhakti-jivana/article/view/50

Adolescence is a critical period in preparation for adulthood. The WHO states that those aged 10-24 are vulnerable to the effects of smartphones, and this age group is the largest internet user. This is consistent with the APJII (Indonesian Internet Service Providers Association) report on internet users in 2022, which found that the highest number of internet users were teenagers aged 13-18, with a percentage reaching 99.16%. Teenagers in the digital era are increasingly accessing online games, and the worst case scenario is getting caught up in online gambling. UNICEF states that teenagers are highly vulnerable to online gambling, even two to four times more than adults. Juvenile delinquency in the digital era, particularly related to online gambling, is a worrying phenomenon that can lead to addiction, mental health disorders, financial ruin, and other deviant behavior. Based on this, the problem in this Community Service (PKM) activity can be formulated as a lack of understanding among Pandanaran Vocational School students about juvenile delinquency in the digital era and how to overcome it. This PKM activity was conducted using lectures, discussions, and question-and-answer methods. In this PKM activity, SMK Pandanaran students obtained information developments and increased their understanding of juvenile delinquency in the digital era, as shown by an average increase in general understanding of 19 participants of 38.95%.
Helen Intania SuraydaTri MulyaniKhaidar Elifika El UlaRico Setyo Nugroho

https://ojs.forumkomunikasidosen.org/index.php/jurnal-bhakti-jivana/article/view/51

This study aims to explore the role of Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) in improving the English communication skills of hotel staff, particularly in the context of hospitality services that require effective and professional interaction with international guests. Using practice-based training methods such as role play, simulation, and task-based learning, this study assesses the effectiveness of a contextual approach to mastering linguistic skills (listening, conversation, vocabulary, and functional speaking), as well as its influence on affective aspects such as confidence, cultural sensitivity, and communication professionalism. Using a one-group pretest-post-test design, 22 hotel staff in Lembang participated in intensive training and were tested before and after the training. The results of the analysis showed significant improvements in all aspects measured. The average participant score rose from 48% (low category) to 74% (fair category), with the greatest improvement occurring in the functional speaking aspect. In addition, field observations revealed that active participation in the training increased participants' courage to speak, fostered sensitivity to guest cultural differences, and shaped a professional attitude in delivering services. These findings confirm that a CLT approach contextualized to real work needs can be an effective and relevant training strategy in the hospitality industry. This training not only improves functional English skills but also equips staff with the interpersonal skills necessary in a multicultural work environment.

Agung Farid AgustianR.
The implementation of digital technology has brought significant changes to governance. Public service innovation through the concept of e-government represents a digital-based governance model, which is the Bedas Digital Service application. This application was designed to optimize population and civil registration administration for Kabupaten Bandung residents. The Community Service Activity by Nurtanio University Bandung is designed to educate these innovations to local government and residents of Desa Pananjung through socialization and technical support. The results of the activity indicate an increase in the understanding of both local government and residents regarding these digital-based public service innovations. The implementation of digital service in Desa Pananjung is challenged by two factors, such as limited public awareness of digital services and insufficient technical competence among digital service management. Therefore, continuous socialization and improvement of information technology competencies for local government are required to ensure the sustainability of the program.
Francisca KristiastutiAty Susanti
